Architectural design opportunity – British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) has advertised an opportunity to design and deliver a new Innovation Centre at its Cambridge offices.  The commission will involve upgrading and remodelling of existing offices, conference and meeting facilities as well as cold environment facilities.  The overall project budget is £3.8 million. Project Completion is no later than 30 March 2015.

Full details are posted on Tenders Electronic Daily, the online version of the ‘Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union’.

The creation of the Innovation Centre was announced in March 2013 by the Minister for Universities and Science, the Rt Hon David Willets MP.  Funded by NERC (Natural Environment Research Council), the initiative strengthens academic links between BAS and Cambridge University.  The ambition is to stimulate new scientific and business collaborations that will lead to improved economic benefit for the UK.
