What’s it like to live in the darkness of space?

Come along to the Cambridge Science Centre on Jesus Lane, Cambridge this Sunday 25 October from 2:00pm where you’ll get a chance to talk to British Antarctic Survey doctor Dr Nathalie Pattyn about her medical research project taking place at Halley Research Station.

Halley Research station in Antarctica experiences 24 hour darkness during the austral winter

Scientists from BAS are helping the European Space Agency to investigate the effects of perpetual darkness on trained skills like docking with the Space Station. Nathalie will talk about life in winter darkness and her experiments with an ESA flight simulator.
