A public event 7-8:30pm, entitled DATA FLOES: POLAR SCIENCE AS CATALYST FOR THE ARTS

Thursday 20 October 2016 at Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge

Hear artists and scientists talk about how they have used climate and environmental data sets to explore issues around the communication of science.

Scientists from the British Antarctic Survey and the Scott Polar Research Institute will tell their stories and share the intrinsic beauty of their research data. Climate data contains vital messages about changes in our natural environment and there is a growing interest in how this science can be communicated more widely. Our event showcases work by artists, composers and scientists who share a desire to enable a different kind of access to knowledge, an access that is direct and unmediated and that acts as a gateway to understanding.
