Freedom of Information

British Antarctic Survey (BAS), as part of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and UK Research and Innovation, is committed to openness, transparency, good record-keeping and effective communication in our handling of all requests for information. BAS encourages the wide distribution of the findings of its research.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIRs) give you specific rights to obtain information about what we do and how we do it.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) (2016/679) gives you the right to see personal information we hold about you.

The UK Research and Innovation Publication Scheme, currently under development, and the Natural Environment Research Council Publication Scheme aim to make a significant amount of our information available to you without needing to request it specifically under the Freedom of Information Act or Environmental Information Regulations.
