The new UK Antarctic Science Conference 2012 (UKASC2012), organised by British Antarctic Survey, with funding from the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) is now accepting registrations for this year’s event. The three-day conference invites Antarctic scientists from around the UK to meet at the Kaetsu Centre in Cambridge from 12–14th September 2012. The closing date for registration and abstract submission is Friday 6th July 2012.

Registration for the conference is free. The event is intended for the UK-based science community engaged in any natural science discipline applied to studies of Antarctica, especially in an Earth system science context. With keynote speakers, presentations on behalf of leading projects, and opportunities to build new networks, the purpose of the meeting is also to provide the community with a forum to discuss future directions of Antarctic science funded in the UK, together with logistic capability needs.
