Polar Ocean Mixing by Internal Tsunamis
POLOMINTS investigates how glacier calving triggers internal tsunamis, reshaping polar ocean mixing and influencing climate, ecosystems, and carbon cycling.
I am a Post-Award Programme Manager in the Research Development and Support Team (ReDS) at BAS. I work within the Post Awards team to support several both NERC and EU funded programmes including:
Surface Fluxes in Antarctica (SURFEIT);
Drivers and Effects of Fluctuations in sea Ice in the ANTarctic (DEFIANT);
The Uncertainty in Climate Sensitivity due to Clouds (CloudSense);
The Role of the Southern Ocean in the Earth System (RoSES).
POLOMINTS investigates how glacier calving triggers internal tsunamis, reshaping polar ocean mixing and influencing climate, ecosystems, and carbon cycling.
SURFEIT unites UK and international scientists to study Antarctic ice and atmosphere interactions, improve sea-level projections, and support climate action.
The recent extreme swings in Antarctic sea ice extent emphasise the need to increase our knowledge of the drivers and climate implications of Antarctic sea ice loss.
Southern Ocean Clouds improves climate models by studying cloud processes over the Southern Ocean to reduce global prediction errors.
