Realising the benefits of the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation programme.
I joined BAS in July 2013 and I am still trying to find my feet around the place …
Prior to joining BAS I spent many years at the Sanger Institute Wellcome Tust on the Genome Campus in Hixton providing both strategic and operational support to group leaders and services managers on a number of ER issues.
Learning and Development and Equality & Diversity are two areas I am passionate about. I believe in the benefit of developing an inclusive culture where knowledge is shared and people feel free to express their diversity and retain their cultural identity.
I am an active member of the Women In Science group (WiS) whose main aim is to raise awareness about the challenges female scientists, and more recently male too, face when trying to progress and facilitate change. I sit on Athena SWAN panels to assess applications from both HEIs and RIs. I represent NERC on the Research Institute Advisory Group and I am a member of the IET STEM Working Group.
