Understanding changing Arctic sea ice
physicists, chemists, biologists, economists, and sociologists from 21 institutes in 11 countries across Europe assess the rapid retreat and collapse of Arctic sea-ice cover
I joined BAS in 2013 and worked for three years as Programme Assistant on the EU funded FP7 project ICE-ARC. I moved into my current role, Polar Funding Coordinator, at the end of 2016.
Working in the Pre Award team within Research Support and Development (ReDS) I manage the planning and approvals processes for projects involving BAS Antarctic science facilities and logistics support, including NERC and other externally grant-funded science projects. This includes the Collaborative Antarctic Science Scheme (CASS), an annual programme providing funding for small scale field-based science projects in Antarctica.
I also work closely with Ana Pereira O’Callaghan and Sandra McInnes to provide guidance and advice to BAS staff on the pre- and post-award stages of NERC and EU research grant proposals.
