We have a range of education resources to engage young people in the Polar Regions and the work we do there. Our resources for teachers and students include:

  • explore the frozen continent without leaving the classroom with our curriculum linked lesson plans for Key stages 2, 3 and 4.

  • two award-winning learning sites: Discovering Antarctica and Discovering the Arctic

  • travel journals from our Ticket to Antarctica and Ticket to Antarctica by Plane websites to discover what life is really like in Antarctica – from working on the ice to the amazing wildlife that lives there.

  • live streamed sessions with our scientists, engineers and operations teams in Antarctica and at Cambridge HQ.

  • a polar factsheet.

  • school visits from our scientists and engineers

Discovering Antarctica

Ready to explore the coolest place on Earth? Dive into the amazing world of Antarctica – from its oceans and atmosphere to the creatures that live there. Not to mention the incredible science that happens there.

With curriculum linked worksheets, cool videos, and handy teacher notes, these activities are perfect for Key Stage 3 and 4.

Whether you’re learning about Antarctica in class or checking things out from home, this is your ultimate guide to the frozen south!

Discovering the Arctic

Visit ‘Discovering the Arctic’ – an online guide to the top of the world. Each section of the site features activities, images, video clips and fact sheets, to help you learn about the Arctic – the icy roof of the world.

Doing your GCSEs? This is the perfect place for you to get stuck into your learning.

Live-streamed events

Join live-streamed curriculum linked sessions straight from Antarctica and meet real-life scientists, engineers, and support teams.

They’ll share their stories, research, and why their work is so important – not just for Antarctica, but for the whole planet!

Watch live with your class or catch up any time, as these live streamed sessions are available to watch on demand.

School visits

Our scientists and engineers are occasionally able to visit schools within a 50-mile radius of our Cambridge headquarters to talk about polar science and living and working in the world’s last great wilderness.
