Bird Island Decarbonisation
In order to decarbonise our remote Bird Island Research Station on the sub-Antarctic Island of South Georgia we will be installing a solar photovoltaic and energy storage system.
Initially employed by BAS for the 1998/99 Halley winter as Mechanical Technician.
Wintered at Bird Island 2001.
Re-employed in 2001 as a Mechanical Services Engineer, tasked mainly with Halley V
and Islands infrastructure and maintenance.
Assisted with technical input for Bird Island Rebuild 2005/06
Assisted with Halley Rebuild 2007 to 2013.
Facilities Engineer for the BAS Island Stations, 2014 to present.
