Nikita Petrov
Electronics Engineer
Biography
I joined the scientific community in 2021 as an Electronics Engineer at the Institute of Oceanology and later joined British Antarctic Survey in 2024. In my ship support role, I have participated in multiple research expeditions across the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. My work focuses on the development, deployment, and maintenance of oceanographic instruments and onboard scientific systems, supporting a wide range of marine research activities.
Prior to this, I spent six years in the commercial electronics sector, developing PCBs for computing systems and network equipment.
In my free time, I continue to design and build electronic devices and enjoy learning circus skills as a hobby. And I love circus itself.
