Layla is the Communications and Engagement Manager for the RRS Sir David Attenborough, based within the Communications Team at the British Antarctic Survey. In this role, Layla is responsible for supporting event delivery for major construction milestones and for managing British Antarctic Survey’s press and digital communications about the new polar research vessel. In addition, she co-ordinates the British Antarctic Survey’s contribution to the cross-government “Year of Engineering” campaign and the public engagement campaigns for the RRS Sir David Attenborough.
She is also responsible for generating and delivering social media campaigns to promote science, innovation, operational and infrastructure projects on British Antarctic Survey’s digital media channels.
Layla is an early career science communicator who recently graduated from Durham University with a Master in Science (MSci) in Physical Geography.
