Josue Martinez Moreno
Ocean Modeller
I grew up in Mexico City, where I studied Earth Scinces at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Afterwards, I moved to Canberra, Australia, where I did my Ph.D. at the Australian National University under the supervision of Andy Hogg on ocean variability, in particular, variability of ocean eddies with scales between 10 to 100 km. In 2021, I started a postdoctoral fellowship with Camille Lique at IFREMER, Brest, France, to work on sea-ice interactions and ocean heat fluxes in the Arctic.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher (Ocean Modeller) with Paul Holland at British Antarctic Survey, where I am focusing on improving the parametrizations of ice-shelf melt in regional and climate models.
