Biography

Jacob is a Communications & RADAR Engineer at the British Antarctic Survey (BAS).

The Communications Engineering Team is responsible for monitoring, upgrading and managing of a diverse array of communication technologies such as Starlink, VSAT, Iridium, VHF, HF, air traffic control equipment and weather forecasting equipment such as the ARIES satellite receiver.

Jacob specifically works to maintain the ARIES weather receiver and the MF RADAR at Rothera.

Jacob has an MEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Bath, focusing on subjects such as satellite networks communication protocols, AlGaN Semiconductor manufacturing and drone design.
