Ice core aquisition and analysis
UK national facility and capability
I am a postdoctoral researcher specializing in climate reconstructions from ice cores.
During my Ph.D. at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, I studied methane variability during the past global warmings based on Greenland ice.
My focus now is spread from greenhouse gas records spanning the past centuries across the globe to sea ice reconstructions in Antarctica over the past two millennia.
As a part of the BAS ice core team, I utilize and maintain the continuous flow analysis setup to obtain the paleoclimate records from ice cores in the highest possible resolution.
I also have experience in fieldwork in Greenland and high-altitude mountain glaciers – conducting glaciological research and sampling and drilling ice cores.
I am quite active in outreach, enjoying climate change storytelling.
