As Digital Content Manager, specialising in BAS online engagement campaigns, Amanda leads on the creation, co-ordination, publishing and impact analysis of content on our digital and social media channels; including the BAS website, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Amanda also manages social media channels for the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Prior to joining BAS, Amanda engaged in science communication during her academic career in Archaeology, and later led public communications for an Essex school. Amanda joined BAS in 2018 in the role of Science Support Administrator with the BAS Research Development and Support team. Amanda joined the BAS Communications team in January 2020 in the role of Digital Communications and Engagement Officer, before becoming the BAS Digital Communications Manager in March 2021.
Amanda holds an MA in Archaeology and Anthropology from Cambridge University and an MSc in Geoarchaeology from Reading University. She is currently undertaking undertaking a postgraduate qualification in Practical Science Communication with the Cambridge Institute for Continuing Education.
