The emplacement mechanism, geometry, and isotope geochemistry of plutons of the Wiley Glacier complex suggest that new continental crust grew by multiple injection of tonalitic dykes during dextral transtension in […]
A data-driven physical model of the energetic electrons in the Earth’s radiation belts, called the Radiation Belt Environment (RBE) model, has been developed to understand Earth’s radiation belt dynamics and […]
The success of any organism depends not only on niche adaptation but also the ability to survive environmental perturbation from homeostasis, a situation generically described as stress. Although species-specific mechanisms […]
A review of evidence for deformation and terrane accretion on the Late Triassic–Early Jurassic margins of Pangea and the mid-Cretaceous margins of the palaeo-Pacific ocean shows that deformation was global […]
he growing world population increases the demand for water, energy, and land. This demand for natural resources impacts the transport of material and the supply of nutrients in the coastal […]
We determined growth rates of six coccolithophorid strains (five species) as a function of temperature. We grew four strains (three species: Emiliania huxleyi, Gephyrocapsa oceanica, and two strains of Calcidiscus […]
We describe the levels of natural arm damage in the Antarctic brittle star Ophionotus victoriae and the rate of arm regeneration over the period of 1 yr, as measured in […]
Five of six Rb-Sr muscovite mineral isochron ages from the Scotia Metamorphic Complex of the South Orkney Islands, West Antarctica, average 190 ± 4 Ma. The muscovite ages are interpreted […]
The influence of snow microstructure on thermal and radiative transfer in snow has not been thoroughly investigated as the tools necessary to efficiently measure microstructural geometry at millimeter resolution have […]
The Cooper Bay Dislocation Zone (CBDZ) represents a major NW-SE trending tectonic boundary within the island of South Georgia that juxtaposes components of a Middle Jurassic to mid-Cretaceous island-arc and […]
A morphological dataset based on 14 standard counts and indices was constructed for 68 specimens comprising 12 species of octopuses. This was used to construct distance matrices based on morphological […]
