Numerical simulations of the ice flow dynamics of the Brunt Ice Shelf – Stancomb Wills Ice Tongue System
Read more of: Numerical simulations of the ice flow dynamics of the Brunt Ice Shelf – Stancomb Wills Ice Tongue SystemIce shelves play an important role in determining regional ocean properties and in modulating ice flux from land to sea. Their dynamics are complex, however, and localised rifts and zones […]

Validity of the Ice Shelf Water plume concept under Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf
Read more of: Validity of the Ice Shelf Water plume concept under Filchner-Ronne Ice ShelfIn winter, brine rejection from sea ice formation and export in the Weddell Sea, offshore of Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf (FRIS), leads to the formation of High Salinity Shelf Water (HSSW). […]

800,000 years of abrupt climate variability
Read more of: 800,000 years of abrupt climate variabilityWe constructed an 800,000-year synthetic record of Greenland climate variability based on the thermal bipolar seesaw model. Our Greenland analog reproduces much of the variability seen in the Greenland ice […]

Provenance changes between recent and glacial-time sediments in the Amundsen Sea embayment, West Antarctica: clay mineral assemblage evidence
Read more of: Provenance changes between recent and glacial-time sediments in the Amundsen Sea embayment, West Antarctica: clay mineral assemblage evidenceThe Amundsen Sea embayment is a probable site for the initiation of a future collapse of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. This paper contributes to a better understanding of the […]

The evolution of a breaking mesospheric bore wave packet
Read more of: The evolution of a breaking mesospheric bore wave packetAll-sky CCD observations of mesospheric gravity waves have been made from Halley Station Antarctica (75.5°S, 26.7°W) as part of a collaborative research program between British Antarctic Survey, U.K. and Utah […]

On the effective aerodynamic and scalar roughness length of Weddell Sea ice
Read more of: On the effective aerodynamic and scalar roughness length of Weddell Sea iceWe study the effective aerodynamic roughness length z0_eff and scalar roughness length for temperature zT_eff over different compact sea ice types in the Antarctic Weddell Sea by aircraft measurements during […]
