Archives service

The British Antarctic Survey Archives Service holds scientific, logistic and administrative records created by BAS and its predecessor organisations.

Aurora Innovation Centre

The Aurora Innovation Centre at British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge is a hub for collaboration. Aurora’s mission brings together individuals, academics, and businesses whose expertise complements BAS’ to address global issues and help society adapt to a changing world.

Herbarium

The plant collections held in the British Antarctic Survey’s herbarium consist of over 40,000 plant specimens from Antarctica, the sub-Antarctic Islands and surrounding continents.

Library service

British Antarctic Survey’s (BAS) library holds a collection of scientific books, journals, and offprints – all with a polar emphasis. The library also keeps a collection of material on the history of the polar regions, including expedition reports and personal memoirs.
