The exhibition showcases objects, diaries, maps from the Scott and Shackleton expeditions (courtesy of the Royal Geographical Society) and modern science equipment, images and facts from Antarctica courtesy of polar researchers from Durham University and British Antarctic Survey. It provides a glimpse of how scientists live and work in the frozen south and what information they are gathering to help us understand the past, present and future impacts of climate and sea level change – widely recognised as amongst the biggest challenges to life on our planet.
